Definitions
(definitions in the singular below shall include the plural and vice-versa)
Rules: the rules and conditions as set out (*where?) and hereinbelow.
Entrant: any individual submitting an Entry in good faith and in compliance with the Rules.
Entry: to include all artwork submitted by an Entrant to the Organisers for the purposes of this competition only.
Organisers: the St Piran Charitable Trust
Entrants must comply with the Rules to be eligible for any prize. No responsibility is accepted for ineligible Entries or Entries made fraudulently. The Organisers reserve the right to reject any Entry at any stage (both before and after the judges have made their decision) because it is ineligible, or fraudulent, or for any other reason(s) or combination of reasons whatsoever. If an Entry is thus rejected by the Organisers, they will notify the Entrant and explain the reasons for rejecting the Entry, always reserving the right not to provide explanation and not to be drawn into any further correspondence if an explanation is provided. The Organisers will not be responsible for any loss or costs whatsoever suffered by the Entrant by reason of or on connection with such rejection.
The judges’ decision is final, unless the Organisers exercise their right to reject an Entry as set out above following such decision. By entering the competition Entrants agree to be bound by such decision. Reasons for the judges’ decision will not be provided and following their decision the Organisers and judges reserve the right to ignore any and all correspondence sent by or on behalf of Entrants in respect of (but not limited to) the judges’ decision.
The Organisers reserve the right to cancel the competition at any stage if deemed necessary in their opinion, without notice and without prejudice to all rights reserved herein. Should such cancellation be deemed necessary, notice of the cancellation will be provided by the Organisers on their website and via email to the Head of Art Department only and no other notification will be provided to Entrants individually. Further, should such cancellation be deemed necessary the Organisers reserve the right not to disclose the reasons for such cancellation.
In the event of such cancellation refunds will not be offered but the Organisers reserve the right to make discretionary refunds in respect of costs deemed by the Organisers reasonably incurred by Entrants in entering the competition (including, for example, postage costs, but excluding, for example, costs of materials incurred in preparing Entries) only subsequent to Entrants making an application for such costs to the Organisers setting out the grounds for their application, why such costs were incurred and could be deemed reasonable, together with evidence of the incurrence of such costs.
Prizes must be taken as stated, and no alternative is available.
The Organisers are not responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever to or caused by the Entries in transit or at the exhibition or anywhere else whatsoever. Entrants must ensure that adequate insurance is in place in respect of (but not limited to) damage or loss of or caused by the Entries. The Organisers will not be responsible for returning Entries to Entrants after the competition or any such associated costs whatsoever and hereby reserve the right to dispose of Entries after the competition should Entrants not remove them from the competition within a reasonable time.
Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these Rules and to agree to be bound by them by entering this competition. This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes to be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
